Meeting and reception drinks | Manchester

Bar service for meetings and receptions at Manchester Marriott Hotel Piccadilly

A company day at Manchester Marriott Hotel Piccadilly can move from a meeting room to a larger reception space. The delegate number is only one part of the drinks plan: guests need to be served in the layout they will actually use after the session.

Cocktailhire is independent of Marriott. We can discuss a staffed drinks service only if the hotel and organiser permit an outside supplier for your booking. The hotel's own catering and bar should be checked first.

Share the date, named room, floor plan, guest numbers and service times, plus the hotel's supplier decision. We can then decide whether an approved counter or mobile bar would help the event without duplicating the hotel service.

Venue planning note

The Piccadilly Suite's conference count is not its reception count

Marriott's current event capacity chart lists the Piccadilly Suite for 270 people in a theatre layout but 120 for a reception. It also lists smaller meeting rooms and its own event catering. A drinks plan should therefore use the confirmed reception layout and any breakout spaces, not copy the main session's delegate capacity.

The hotel also lists a Great Room Bar. Check what the booked event already includes and whether another drinks supplier is permitted before discussing bar position, staffing, glassware or load-in.

From meeting to reception

Serve guests where they actually gather

A bar that works for a quiet breakout may be wrong for a post-conference crowd. If the hotel authorises outside service, we can assess where guests enter the reception, where the hotel is already serving and whether a staffed counter or mobile bar would give the room a clearer flow.

The host should be free to meet guests, not manage glassware or explain where the next drink is coming from. That depends on one agreed service position and timetable, not on adding an unplanned bar.

What to settle first

Get the reception layout and supplier answer

Ask your hotel event contact for the reception floor plan and drinks provisions. If an outside team is approved, share the space, guest number and service window so we can assess a useful role for Cocktailhire.

Drinks and glassware

Choose from the existing menu once the plan is approved

You choose drinks from the existing Cocktailhire menu, and the event menu is built from those selections. Bartenders, ingredients, glassware and a mobile bar can be scoped for an approved outside service; none is assumed to be allowed or part of the hotel booking.

Next step

Send the room, layout and service times

Tell us what happens in the meeting room, where the reception takes place, how many guests are expected there, and what the hotel has approved. We can then give a clear answer on the service setup.

Frequently asked questions

Planning drinks at Manchester Marriott Hotel Piccadilly

Can Cocktailhire supply an outside bar at Manchester Marriott Hotel Piccadilly?

Only if the hotel and event organiser approve an outside drinks supplier for the booked event. Cocktailhire is independent of Marriott. We confirm the permitted room, service position and existing hotel catering before proposing a bar or team.

Why does the room setup matter for drinks?

Marriott lists different capacities for theatre and reception layouts in its Piccadilly Suite. Share the actual drinks-reception space and floor plan, not only the conference delegate count, so the service position and staffing can be assessed.

Does the hotel offer its own drinks service?

Yes. Marriott advertises event catering and an on-site Great Room Bar. Ask the hotel what is included or available for your booking before considering a separate supplier.

How would we select cocktails for an approved service?

You choose drinks from the existing Cocktailhire menu. The event menu is built from those selections once the permitted service plan is clear.
