Yes. The arrangement works when the caterer and drinks team have defined responsibilities and one clear route for event-day instructions. The client should not have to resolve overlapping duties while guests are waiting.
Agree the handover before service starts
List who handles cocktails, other drinks, table delivery, ice, stock replenishment and used glasses. Confirm which equipment and preparation areas each supplier needs, especially where they share access or storage.
Give both leads the same guest count and running order. Timing changes should reach both teams, with bar-specific instructions passed through the bar lead. A caterer coordinating the event does not mean every catering duty is included in the separate bartender booking; anything additional should be agreed in the written requirements.
