Separate check-in from ordering and prepare the bar for the first group to arrive. Guests should be able to enter, understand the drinks choice and move into the event without joining a queue across the entrance.
Make the first decision easy
Position the menu where it can be read before guests reach the bar. Choose from the existing cocktail menu with the opening service window in mind and make the alcohol-free option equally clear.
Staff for the actual arrival pattern. If the event opens at a fixed time, a large part of the guest list may appear together. Have clean glasses, ice and ingredients ready, with replenishment assigned so the first rush does not empty the service point.
