What Should Be Agreed About Glass Collection and Clearing in Large Event Halls

Name the team collecting used glasses, where those glasses go and how clean stock reaches the bar. Glass hire, bar service and clearing are separate jobs unless the booking explicitly combines them.

Do not leave clearing between two suppliers

A busy hall can have enough glassware on paper and still run short at the service point because used glasses are scattered around tables. Plan collection routes and a safe return area before doors open.

Agree whether glasses are washed and returned during service or whether the event uses a larger stock of clean glasses. Check the venue's facilities and the actual supplier arrangement rather than assuming there will be a glass washer nearby.

  • Keep the dirty return area separate from clean glass and drink preparation.
  • Record who handles collection, washing where agreed, final packing and any breakages.
