Make the bar easy to find without making it an obstacle.
Place the wedding bar where guests can see and approach it without blocking entrances, table service or the main route through the room. The team also needs a separate, usable working and restocking area.
Think about the room when people are standing, not just the empty floor plan. A bar beside the entrance can turn arriving guests into a queue across the doorway. A hidden bar may draw fewer people initially but create longer walks and missed service later. Neither position is automatically right for every room.
A practical example
After speeches, many guests may stand up together and order before moving to the dance floor. Allow that group somewhere to wait without interrupting staff clearing dinner or guests moving between rooms.
