What Is Flair Bartending

Flair bartending makes bar skills part of what guests watch.

Flair bartending uses visible bottle-and-shaker handling skills as part of the bartender's presentation. It adds something for guests to watch alongside the drinks. It is not another name for every bartender making cocktails, and it should not be used to imply ordinary cocktail service is a lesser standard.

What you are asking for

Tell us whether you want visible skills during the agreed bar service, a particular performance moment or a combination to discuss. A separate show is not something to assume from the job title. Space, timing, audience position and ongoing drinks orders all need to fit the brief.

Keep the drinks plan clear

The event still needs the right guest count, working bar, selected drinks, supplies and service hours. If guests gather to watch, consider where they stand and how the rest of the room moves around them. Any performance element needs to work with the service rather than leave it unexplained.

  • State what you want guests to see and when.
  • Describe the room and the available working space.
  • Confirm how many people need drinks during that period.
  • Keep physical bar hire and supply responsibilities explicit.

If your priority is simply cocktails handled while you host, standard cocktail bartender hire may be the better match. If a visible bar performance is part of the occasion, put it into the brief from the start.
