Horseshoe or island layout
The finishes can be used in different modular layouts where the venue and booking allow. A horseshoe bar has a long guest-facing front with returns at each end, giving the team a contained working area behind it. An island bar forms a complete service point that guests can approach from several sides. The right choice depends on the room, access, guest flow and the number of bartenders required.
What to check before choosing
- Access: confirm door widths, lifts, stairs, loading times and the route from the vehicle to the event space.
- Space: allow for the complete bar footprint, bartenders working behind it and guests waiting without blocking entrances or tables.
- Guest numbers: a larger event may need a longer bar, more service positions and more bartenders rather than simply a different frontage.
- Power: confirm the power requirement for illuminated bars and any refrigeration or other equipment included in the booking.
- Venue rules: check setup windows, floor protection, overnight access and when equipment must be removed.
